The VMI Representative is responsible for owning and optimizing the customerâs supply chain performance within a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) environment. This role serves as the primary operational, analytical, and commercial liaison between the customer and Align Aerospace, ensuring uninterrupted material flow, contractual compliance, and continuous improvement of inventory performance.<br>
Unlike traditional customer service or inside sales roles, the VMI Representative operates as a supply chain controller, managing inventory levels, demand signals, replenishment strategies, and cross-functional issue resolution across Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, and Contracts. This position requires a strong understanding of aerospace fastener distribution, ERP systems (SAP), customer portals, and AS9100/AS9120 compliance standards, with direct accountability for customer satisfaction, inventory health, and operational execution.<br>

Qualifications

&#9;<li>Supervise, mentor, and develop 2â3 Cost Accountants and Cost Estimators, with a focus on building foundational and advanced skills in government cost accounting and estimating.
&#9;<li>Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities for inventory, cost of sales, and related revenue recognition accounts, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis.
&#9;<li>Prepare and record revenue recognition entries in accordance with ASC 606; maintain complete and audit-ready supporting documentation.
&#9;<li>Maintain cost accounting configuration and standard cost structures within Oracle ERP; research, identify, and resolve system discrepancies impacting inventory valuation and cost of sales reporting.

&#9;<li>Analyze inventory valuation, excess and obsolete reserves, and recommend adjustments as necessary to ensure proper financial reporting.
&#9;<li>Perform labor and overhead rate impact analysis in support of costing, pricing, and operational decision-making.
&#9;<li>Execute and document SOX controls related to inventory, standard cost, and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with internal control requirements.
&#9;<li>Provide internal and external audit support, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
&#9;<li>Possess and apply working knowledge of the Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TINA) requirements to support proposal development, including identification, accumulation, and certification of cost or pricing data for government bids and negotiations.
&#9;<li>Ensure cost estimates, supporting schedules, and pricing documentation comply with TINA, FAR Part 15, and applicable Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
&#9;<li>Serve as a subject?matter resource for the organization on CAS interpretation, application, and disclosure, including consistency in estimating, accumulating, and reporting costs.
&#9;<li>Support the development, maintenance, and periodic review of CAS?compliant cost structures, including indirect rate methodologies, allocation bases, and cost pools.
